evernoting is the new journaling

Some days you don’t want to share your thoughts with the whole world. Some days you can’t bear to slow down enough to write. I have days like that ALL THE TIME, so I looked for and found a new system of journaling. I call it “evernoting”. It should probably have a cooler name, but that’s what stuck.
I take my iPhone everywhere. I have my non-alcoholic moments of clarity in the most unusual places… i.e. bathrooms and traffic jams. My iPhone has an application called Evernote, which many of you recognize for its incredible organizational abilities. I like it because I can record 5 minute segments of the deepest, coolest thoughts ever and store them online with tags for future use.
Do I want to journal these thoughts (keep them private) or blog them (make them public)? Who knows, but I have to record them now so they aren’t lost forever in the abyss that is my short term memory. By evernoting, I keep all my thoughts recorded digitally to be assigned private or public status later. Why risk pushing something out into the wrong medium when all that’s really important is the expression itself? Free your thoughts from their prison and aim their trajectory later.
Is anyone else evernoting out there? What method do you use?
